Loving it.

Any book written in the 1800's has to have some merit, but I'm finding this one very slow and long. Compared to the other 1800's books I've been reading, about the pioneers struggles with storms and Indians, this writer makes the trek to Montana sound like a day in the park. Maybe it will get more interesting or if not shortly, I'll move on to another book.

I love this book. The writer is an 'in your face' person and she doesn't hold anything back. But basically it's the authenticity of the time that I enjoy.

So far so good. There's a lot of very poignant parts about the kids being transported away to safety from their parents.

Amazing what captivating writers these so-called uneducated people were that wrote these narratives in the 1800's. Nick (The White Indian Boy) is a handful at the best of times but he tells a really interesting story about his time with the Indians and how good they were to him. More when I'm finished. I'm really enjoying it.

I'm almost finished and loving this book. The authenticity of the author can't be denied and paints a real and very interesting picture of the hardship she went through.
