Kathie is starting Brave Hearted: The Women of the American West
Exhaustively researched, it is as much a sad exposition of what happened with women and the native Americans)as Emigrants went west in the US and “settled” that part of the country.

Kathie is starting The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music
Not growing up with grudge, I wasn’t familiar with Dave Grohl, but wow, everyone else must be. He has performed at the White House, at the Academy awards, SNL and of course all over the world.
He’s incredibly modest and generous with accolades for other musicians. This book is not precisely (but mostly) chronologic, and that threw me a bit. The stories with his children are lovely.

Kathie is starting Those Who Hold Bastogne: The True Story of the Soldiers and Civilians Who Fought in the Biggest Battle of the Bulge
Comprehensive overview of Battle of the Bulge. Started enroute to Bastogne, which was great for a historical road trip, but as the book goes on and on (switching to different commanders and battalions), you realize how difficult this battle really was. . . a great companion to the 101st Airborne museum in Bastogne, the Memorial outside Bastogne, and Easy CO’s foxholes, which you can still visit.

Complete surprise at all the book tackles, tough subjects within the context of the story line! Recommend the audiobook - each character is voiced separately. Really well done.

Incredible. A personal narrative of surviving Auschwitz/Birkenau and finding love.

Kathie is starting Shortest Way Home: One Mayor's Challenge and a Model for America's Future
Although I don’t agree with his political viewpoint at times, really enjoyed the book, especially the history/improvement of South Bend, as have a kid in college at ND.

I tried. Couldn’t make it past disc 1 of audiobook with run on sentences and flight of ideas.

Kathie is starting To the Moon and Back (The Baxter Family, #3)
Somewhat simplistic writing, but a very nice Christian historical novel, with lots of information on the OK City bombing.

Kathie is starting After You (Me Before You, #2)
For fans of the first book, fantastic. Tackling problems of grief after death and forgiving oneself with a big dose of humor, this author really does it well.
