After some tears, I gave this book a little bit more hope. But finally at chapter 27 I am getting to a moment where I’m actually enjoying it. It took quite a bit to get me here so I can only hope this is the right direction and we keep the Momentum up.

Candace is 30% done with The Sword of Kaigen

So far, r/w audible, it is so difficult to know who is who. The characters names are so similar that until context clues continue in the story, it leaves me feeling disconnected. I’m hoping that the story itself will eventually be just a few characters so I can start to enjoy the world being built and the people who make it what it is. Right now, even after 11 chapters, have no idea what the characters names are.

This page here!!! #headexplosion I feel like a lot of the book has been predictable while still enjoyable minus the nonsense Violet tends to stir up with her doubt and secrets but Chapter 21…. did not expect this new tidbit. No spoilers but probably the first genuine surprise of the book so far.
