This book is so good. This book is SO good. I cried so much reading chapter 38.

I was expecting some deaths but not the two we got in a span of 70 pages 😟 there's still so much book left I'm speechless 😟

I started The Expanse in 2017 and after constant re-reads I'm finally ready to say goodbye to the series. Just two books and one novella and the Roci crew is gone :(

Last time I was really disappointed with this book and I hated the time jump so I stopped my binging of this series. This time, I'm ready to finally finish The Expanse so I'm hoping I like this re-read better.

Spoilers 🙄 "killing" a character in an explosion to have them appeared alive three pages later, I hate this book, she should have stayed dead

You know what there were like 20-25 solid pages where I was like, this is actually getting enjoyable, a 3 star read maybe, but then they introduced the bad guy and I lost all interest again, sigh.

I hate it so much already 😭

There's this one person that got really offended/defensive in one of my one star reviews like a month or so ago and every time someone else comments there they start replying out of the blue again and I had to block them cause I have gotten SO MANY notifications from her. I'm sorry, I don't even check the comments anymore but their name is constantly appearing on my phone and I can't do it anymore 😭

I was NOT prepared for the 30 year time jump. I repeat 30 YEARS 😭 WTF 😭

AND I'M CRYING, I love Avasarala so much and she crying over [spoilers] Fred's death and Arjun and when is she gonna get a win 😭

HOW MANY POV CHARACTERS DOES THIS BOOK HAVE?! Chapter 10 and this is the seventh (eight if we count the prologue) not complaining though, kind of really invested rn.

Spoilers: OKAY. OKAY. I know the universe is in chaos and a quarter of a billion people on Earth has died and the crew is still far from each other and the protomolecule sample was stolen and all BUT LISTEN. Alex and Bobbie? They are giving me the feels and I'm so happy for Alex. He deserves love.

Me starting chapter two: OH MY GOD ALEX GETS A POV CHAPTER?! Omg IS HE GONNA DIE?! WAIT he wants to leave, noooo. WHAT AMOS IS LEAVING ARE WE GONNA HAVE SEPARATE CHAPTERS FOR ALL THE ROCI CREW?

Holy shit I was not expecting the Roci crew to leave each other and having pov for all of them. This is already the best book ever BUT I'M SCARED. Now they wanna hire more people? & what if Alex or Amos don't come back?

"Captain," Amos said with mock surprise. "Have you actually learned from your past? Is this a new thing you do now?"
"Why do I put up with your shit?"
"Because," Amos said, starting to strip an assault rifle down to its component parts, "I'm the only one on the ship that can keep the coffee maker running."

My favorite friendship, my favorite characters.

Prologue was Bobbie's PoV 🥰 there was a scene with Avasarala, the Roci crew made fun of Holden. All is good so far.

BANANAS. Everything that's happening is just bananas. I'm really enjoying this re-read, I only remember few details and I usually just recall them before starting a new chapter so it's been a fun journey!
