Six years after the first novel we find Tommy and Tuppence at odds out of boredom when they are asked to take over a detective agency that was under suspicion for doing misdeeds.

Call me old fashioned (or modern) but I prefer a story that is interesting. This is just a recitation of the facts of this guys life. And his neighbor beating up his ex girlfriend bc she found some bracelets to pawn is not justification for abuse.

So far this is very weird. Almost high fantasy in the planets universe, but “Snow White” who literally arrived at the museum with dwarfs to reclaim her family jewel had golden hair and came on a space ship. The time dilation problem meant by the time she got back (bc she was told she would only be gone one long night) her husband had died in battle against the dwarves. At that was just the intro.

How old fashioned this story is. It is such a relic of its time. Artemis is a simpering girl. Basically trained for nothing but to marry and old geezer for political reasons and not even properly prepped for such a life. But she is spunky enough to run away and is complaining about the food and scarce water…How did she remove her makeup… seriously….

This plot is contrived but I love the pairings. “The rules” replaced with a book on witchcraft. The woman who had no idea “what happened to Anne Frank” or cared that her husband had a nazi shrine of a man cave. Note if your husband keeps his ‘man cave’ locked, it probably contains something shameful.

Before magic was all his life was about Matt only was worried about staying alive and doing what was right, but two gangs have entered the town he is staking out and he needs to know who is up to no good, or which is working the plan he was hired to thwart.

Nothing like a self published tech book. Light on actual code. Or examples so far on how to use the functions they keep name dropping. Repeating themselves bc it is not a book but a collection of articles. (Probably from a blog)

I decided to read the revised version of this story. And must say after chapter 1 it is a completely different story. Togo the troublesome dog in the first book who she adopts by the end is hers at the start.
Gangsters break into the house to scare them immediately.

This story is as bad a shop-a-holic. Maggie is driving up a mountain and we left to just watch when she runs out of road and flies to her doom. Not my favorite theme.

Very honest story of a scientist’s journey. Almost feels too honest. But her personal concerns are part of what pushed her scientific research.

Sam actually checked this out, but I started it due to having heard an interview with her and forgotten what I had put on hold. Not my cup of tea. She is a narcissist and alcoholic relating the tales of her youth. But I had thought to recommend it to Sam, only hesitated due to the aforementioned faults I saw in the author. Let’s hope she appreciates the story more than I. I will come back to it after she is done.

Still have to find live and realize that ones womb is not all there is to being a woman and that there are lots of orphans needing parents. At least Bea and Grace pass on shore and not on the water as I feared when she mentioned a passing mailboat.

So pretty sappy. And I don’t see the point or direction. She seems to think she can come back, but instead she is just wandering around her life. She was so passive while a human is it any wonder she is just didn’t bother going anywhere when she was dead.

Interesting story. I find the contrast between Primrose who keeps witches apart for their protection and the “family” group formed to care for 3 orphans interesting. And look forward to seeing how it evolves

How the funk do these folks who claim to truly care about Matthew. Or talk to him about his alcoholism. One of them literally is dealing with an alcoholic family member and the pain that has caused. And yet none (even the one who should have his closest interests to heart has not confronted him about it) will was literally viewed as a druggie to hide Jem’s secret.

Almost done as of last night. So much of various histories I had forgotten, but the boys are the focus here. Grayson facing demons of his past trying to keep things contained and Jameson facing who he wants to be in the future. How he will grow into a person. Grayson needed Avery to balance him and keep his heart in something
