Ohmygod. It’s so good.

I was genuinely nervous to start this… My expectations were SKY HIGH. What if it didn’t live up to the pedestal I’d placed it on?

Oh ye of little faith, Katie. I’m 35% in and the Ashen series remains elite. Being back in Silla’s mind feels so cozy - even amongst all the turbulence and high stakes. I love this world. I love these characters.

If you haven’t picked up Road of Bones yet, I am BEGGING you!

Being a mother is reading at 6am, getting pages away from Rowan reuniting with Aelin and then having your daughter wake up. Can’t wait for nap time!

EVERYONE, stop what you’re doing and read this book IMMEDIATELY! I am fully obsessed and completely obsessed. So unique. So beautiful. Powerful and complex. And the longing! Sigh.

“Reader, I puke-laughed.” is one of the funniest lines I’ve ever read.

When you shatter the chains of this world and forge the next, remember that art is as vital as food to a kingdom. Without it, a kingdom is nothing, and will be forgotten by time. I have amassed enough money in my miserable life to not need any more —so you will understand me clearly when I say that wherever you set your thrown, no matter how long it takes, I will come to you, and I will bring music and dancing.

TOE PICK!

Everyone is this book is insufferable, but I’m not sure the narrator is supposed to be? Or at least, it’s seems like the author thought she did something (???????) to redeem herself by the end. I did not. I kept waiting for the implosion or the other show to drop, but it never happened. It did lead me to race through the book though. There were things of value in here. But a lot of it is lost in murkiness?
