Reading this book makes me want to become an editor. Simply to stop books like these to ever be published. Seriously the author has written numerous novels and nevertheless she repeatedly uses common terminology in a fantasy novel; champagne and boogeyman really? The world building is so piss poor especially that there’s no nap. We also need a list of terms and species instead of just introducing them randomly.

Debating DNFing this book. Honestly if you can look pass the I’m not like other girls trope which I normally can it is a fine start of a series. However words cannot express how much the author needs a better editor. If is simple reader like me can spot how much revision this book requires than I how could paid editors not have for this traditionally published book. champagne is mentioned so what France exists?
