Did not appreciate the dubiously substantiated attack on Mary Bliss Parsons and the Parsons family or Historic Northampton. It seems the author’s research, particularly about Historic Northampton, was superficial, just enough to glean enough facts to point fingers. But I’m related, so I believe there is more dimension than represented.

Peni Jo Renner has written the story of her multiple great grandmother with care and artfulness. The flow of the story is smooth, quick, and believable. There are no distractions. I personally became involved with each of the characters, their struggles, strengths and flaws. Where the factual record remaining is thin, the author fleshed out the story with well researched creative reasoning.

I finished this book. It held interest to the end. It is intriguing and well written. It had drama and is well paced.

Finished this. It is well researched. So many links are provided as to be distracting unless you wanted the study of this haunted mansion to become a lifestyle. If is great if you need to be convinced of ghosts, but editing would have crisped it up and made the story dramatic.
