I really dislike books that cause friction or dissonance by putting down non-male main characters. I really dislike books that make it seem like there isn’t anyone better than a subpar love interest. I just don’t get enemies-to-lovers tropes, nor do I get someone who doesn’t choose themselves when dealing with toxic, or disappointing relationships.

K I fast forwarded to chapter 11. And I’m so glad I did. lol

She was stuck in a small town, forced to wear clothes and behave the way to make her fit in. She discussed how she felt trapped, and the same day she discussed this, she agrees to let the GUY make her buy clothes so she is more like the town.

I might not make it to 50%. Why am I giving so much energy toward analyzing this? Maybe because I want her to realize her value, and that she can be happy? Idk

It has promise with current, progressive themes, BUT, I can’t handle lies that have potential to truly humiliate someone (especially if you care for them). Also, NOT HANGING OUT WITH SOMEONE YOU DON’T LIKE IS ALWAYS AN OPTION. Like, how is this not a consideration? You can always change your mind after a split second decision during a make out session.
