so, many of these stories are not good, with edit fails and annoying tropes, but I've just struggled through a really stinker, that made me feel like my brain was melting, my eyes bleeding and my fists want to pummel something. Charity Christmas was hateful beyond belief. i hope that marks the low spot in this leviathan.

loving the (unintended) humour in this book: someone is described as having a right-handed right hand, and a nose like a dangling. We have assassins moving like undead cheetahs (surely a regular, non-zombie cheetah is the better animal to model yourself on?), and a policeman came into his bosses room and announced that he had farted.
