Initially stunted in comprehending Landmark’s though presentation of Thucydides’ work, I soon settled on the smoothest reading order for myself, and presumably anyone else who wishes to enjoy this text. Start with the Introduction and Editor’s Note, then the appendices, and finally Thucydides’ writings themselves. Thucydides is then uninterrupted by appendices, leaving the reader to focus on this epic war.
