This book is interesting. It has me mad at gentrification but also just ready for something big and obvious to happen. Maybe I’m used to basic story lines? Interesting read so far though

I was going to DNF but feel weird because it’s from a book swap, so have to talk about it when I give it back. This book is not good. Nothing even happened until page 278. Maybe the way the book was described is why it’s disappointing. Also not into books that have way too much s*x.

The description sounds exactly like the type of book I like to read. Also been watching the Testaments and it feels sort of similar so let’s see

“As believers and followers of Christ, we are not called to change our glasses based on our location. We should operate with kingdom vision at all times when God has renewed our minds.”

Also to note- I chose to read this book because I wanted to understand the trope of ‘the unreliable narrator’

The first 40% was very slow. A little intriguing at first then hit a huge lull.

Now though, that the timelines are starting to sync up it is soooo good. And I understand why there was a lull, Amy was trying to write things that way. It makes so much more sense to the story than I anticipated.

Good. I was looking for a book with a ‘White Lotus’ -esque theme, and so far it is delivering.
