Interesting how this manages to be slow paced and intense at the same time

Ooooof, okay things are getting heavy

The fact that I'm smiling after reading the (intentional) horrors in this book will never cease to amaze me.

"I had not previously considered the many, many uses of an enamel pan in adversity, but I was about to declare my undying love for this one."

This book makes you read this sentence and then go "You know what, Sonia, that's perfectly fair and reasonable"

Somehow it gets more intense and more gross at the same time...

I am both horrified and engrossed at the same time

Some bits are so delightfully gross, and yet I can't stop reading

You know you've had a good time when you're smiling as you finish a book

Didn't expect this to be quite so easy to follow

So far this is striking the right balance between well-written, intriguing mystery, gross insect horror and humour.

So. Much. Fighting.

WHY DID MY TRAIN HAVE TO ARRIVE NOW?

Okay so, the thing I thought was going to be the final plot twist happened at like 45% so I'm definitely more than intrigued for the rest of the ride.

The way this book has me going from 😂 to 🥰 to 😖 and back to 😂 in three paragraphs...

I am so deeply, utterly confused as to how a book about, well, what this book is about, can also be so utterly sweet.
