Book club selection that was not on my radar. I think I'm going to learn something. Emma is 66 yrs old, she didn't tell anyone where she was going and struck out with a few things stuffed into a homemade backpack in 1955 to walk the whole trail. Looking forward to her adventure!

wildly poetic writing style....you will want to read this even if you plan on seeing the movie....."silence slipped in like a long strand of hair laid in the curtains." or "the silence suffocated her."

not going the distance with this one.

I am still reading this book which is hard for me to believe. the author is coming from a very different tack thru life. It was hard for me to wrap my head around being on a trail with no preparation. She is so different that I am intrigued. I like her style with references to literature and her vocabulary.

I am glad to have a topic about Picasso that is narrowed down. His mastery of black and white is teaching me a new way of looking at art and nature. The first part of the book is art theory and critics, but the last two-thirds of the book are mainly images of the paintings and sculpture that has been discussed.

This book is loaded with quotes and hints on getting what you want in your life. The big key is doing little things daily to move you forward.

Charming book set in Georgia in 1906. I am thoroughly enjoying this book.

Very interesting from the start. I now also think I will have to read Einstein and Benjamin Franklin because of Isaacson's style and knowledge.
