I accept a little confusion.

But I sweat I am readind(listening) to abridged copy or one on shuffle. The story is jumping around
Or just jumping forward.

We are about to fly into a battle over France....we are being promoted to admiral in England....we are in Germany or Spain or???

The pacing was SLOW in some of the other books but...

I last "read" chapter by chapter with my mom in her bed as a bedtime story. I have seen the movie at least a dozen time.
But I saw in library children's Dept and had to grab it.
Wow 26 chapters A thru Z chapter headings definitely did not notice that as a kid.
