I will go back through this more than once. The writing style is mostly breezy. You could imagine this as a series of chats over a beer or three and a brew kettle. The goal is to peel back the accretion of folklore and truisms, to make brewing as enjoyable as possible while still producing good liquid. What steps are absolutely necessary and what are optional, what is tradition and what is effective and easy.
