I needed a break from all my high fantasy reading and this was the PERFECT pick esp since I'm already well into the series so I truly barely have to think at all

I'm already liking this book SOOO much more than book 2 which I felt was literally exactly the same as book 1. Cecily is probs my fave character of the girls so far

Reading 1984 with my Sophomores because it seems timely and important for them to read

going to be reading "Shawshank Redemption" with my juniors this semester!

I think I've read a few too many fantasy/historical china danmei so I think I'm going to put this one on hold because its starting to really irritate me lol I feel like everything I didn't really like about vol 1 is standing out even more in the beginning of this - the constant beating it over our heads about the racism of the Han vs Hu, the casual homophobia from the mc, and the telling rather than showing

This is definitely super fun and im enjoying the audiobook but I dont see myself giving this a 5 star like everyone else asdfghjklkjhgfds and I probs wont continue in the series but thats just cause I never like series and honestly need to stop picking them up (whoops!! Or I just need to accept reading them as a standalone and pretending whatever cliffhanger it ends on doesnt matter lol)

I really want to know how tf 7s splits up their volumes cause this picks up DIRECTLY after vol 2 like to the point that it's almost jarring like this absolutely should have just been with the previous book but why would they give us 450-500 page volumes when they can make more money?

Using this to hold my "volume 3" updates because I read volume 1 and 2 physically and will be finishing it with the epub/fan translation!

Just from chapter 1 I can tell this is gonna be fun!!

This got SOOOOOOOOOO much better after we started focusing more on jinglin/cangji and their past rather than the detective "let's find the bell and spend 100s of pages going over entire lives of all these characters who dont really matter".

Dense Forest Frontier
I LOVEDDD this arc omg this is where the romance really begins and we get SO much information. Also the amount of quotes I was highlighting was crazy - I can't wait to see where this goes next after all we learned/discussed during this arc. But this was fun, funny, a little spooky, lots of suspense and I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. Overall this was a great arc!

I have 3 critiques of this series
1. they all should be in their 30s, these do not read like damn 19 year olds tf why are booktok writers so obsessed with 20 year olds
2. all of the men besides Bran read the exact same way
3. why is Niko so much more interesting in other books over his own aslkdjasldja every time he's on page in these books I'm like ooooh he's fun but then in HIS book he's the same as everyone else

Gonna hopefully finish this this month!! as it goes on i'm more convinced this is not the last book T-T idk if I'll continue in the series tbh cause how am I supposed to remember all of this after a YEAR or more???

I'm going to put this on hold (again T-T) because I need to admit to myself i CANNOT read 1,000s of pages of the same book all at once i just don't enjoy it and if I keep pushing myself through this book i'm going to end up hating it which i dont want

I cant tell how I feel about this yet - I like the omniscient evil plan pov but also everything is being TOLD to us so I kinda feel nothing for anything thats happening or anyone in the story

This is definitely for all the gay Shakespeare nerds aka ME and i'm loving it

Ice Age Arc -

the "reality" section before this arc started was a bit long and dry, but this arc was REALLY good! My favorite movie of all time is "the Thing" and this arc was definitely inspired by that story. It was also a perfect mix of spooky, psychological, puzzles, and then also character development and plot development. I'm so excited that we finally got to see Spaces in action!!
