I'm just waiting for all this to (inevitably) go horribly wrong

I'm going into this almost completely blind and from the first 50 pages I have NO idea where this could possibly be going but I'm already hooked

It's been so long since I read just an easy, fun, fast paced (slightly spooky) thriller and I absolutely devoured this I can't believe I read so much in one go lol def will be finishing it tomorrow!

this has quickly become a comfort series they're just so fun and easy

Time for a truly horrific book - one about CAPITALISM (and job searching) 👻

- winter dreams f scott fitzgerald

I'm REALLY enjoying this but I also fear it's a little long... I'm hoping the end is fast paced or the pay off is worth how much "we can't talk about the THING" this middle part has been

omg updating things to the actual star rating with the quarter/half stars is so crazy - it only took over a decade lmao

I meant to read just the first page or two but WOW what a start - i couldnt stop reading until I finished chapter 1 even though i was absolutely falling asleep lol

- the rocking horse winner (most bizarre short story I've ever read in my life I think)

Really enjoying this so far! The writing is great and I'm already so captivated

This book is just like reading a horror zombie movie - but more specifically the new Resident Evil movie

reading this with my juniors and seniors! VERY excited for this one it's been ages since I read the book

this took such a turn lmao I was really enjoy it but now I'm not totally sure if I'll continue to like it i guess we'll see

- The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant
- The Bet by Anton Chekhov (this one was REALLY fun to do with the kids because it actually got them debating pretty passionately!)

I decided to reread this because honestly I remember loving this one - it's all the horror AND romance tropes that I love - and I finally found book 2 at the used book store so I'm ready to continue!

I'm sooo curious where this is going

This is fantastic so far but just a little sad for me atm so im gonna put it on the back burner and come back when im ready for it

I don't think I'd be getting through this if not for the audiobook - not to say this is a bad book its just very dense in an odd way. A LOT has happened but its very telly rather than showy but not in a bad way? Its looong paragraphs recounting whats happened with little pause to actually be in the moment, but it also flows very well together. Its hard to explain - im liking it though (I think)

Using this as a placeholder for all the short stories I'm reading with my 11/12th graders

so far we have read:
- young Goodman brown
- the devil and Tom walker

I've been in a major reading slump with school starting back up I've been too tired to focus at all so I figured a fun little autumn romance might heal me and honestly this is very cute! And I read 125 pages in one go soooo

Another buddy read with my husband! I've never read this one but he loves the book AND the movie

My parents found my old Pokemon card so I was absolutely LOCKED IN to this audiobook for so many hours while I was organizing those LOL

This is already even better than the first oooo

(also every time I remind myself that this is technically a hockey romance I do have to giggle a little bit because this entire world is so ridiculous)

Got to read a ton of this while sitting at the RMV then also by listening to the audiobook (which is fantastic btw) while playing the new pokopia DLC and im enjoying it IMMENSELY

Page 1: you cannot read this as a standalone!!!
Me: fuckin bet

This has been the same 3 scenes/ideas over and over and over and over and over for nearly 300 pages like girl I GET IT. im hoping the ending is good though or this was several useless hours of my life im never getting back

Idk how i feel about this book as a whole yet but wanted to note:
why do all "weird" books about girls coming of age have to focus so much on piss and shit? If its to go against gender norms or something idk how well it works - ive read it in like 5 or 6 books now and im always like do yall really think teenagers are this obsessed with piss and shit and period blood??
