Start was a bit iffy for me but it rolled into a plausible SciFi. The reader learns as the protagonist learns, then it becomes an imperative. Pace picked up and now it is getting good!

Short stories are Easy to read on phone while standing in line or waiting someplace. O’Brian tiptoes thru hard emotions earned and wrenched from comrades in arms along the Song Tra Bong Vietnam.

Read this during the sabbatical. While I don't read a lot of S. King books, there is no arguing his successful writing life. Good, simple techniques and useful admonishment (avoids at writer's peril)

Double Exposure was the first Lister book I read. So far the connection to then and now is good. A bit novel going back then returning to the present but he makes it work

Lots of personal connections> unmanned systems, LCS and QuadCopters...pace is hard to manage, driven and sketchy just like what you might expect from snippets of real news in a war zone. Gotta love any author(s) that include that many real world notes/links back to authoritative credits. Futuristic fictional realism....heavy and reason to be eye's open wary even after intentionally removing the nuclear option.

Non-fiction research. "Beautiful Swimmers" (William Warner) was published in the 70's but is still a great read for the Chesapeake area and Blue Crabs!

Got my attention. Things aren't what they seem after the seagull war and the inevitable, but erroneous assumption. Looks like Drew and Mack have a good trajectory for solving these dolphin murders!

Great connection to this years' limited snapper season. Character development is good. Gotta love the marina manager and the seagull "confrontation". Real life affect of changes to the fishery, to sportsmen, and to a way of life.

Good start. (Not a spoiler) Interesting hook when victim is a surprise. Like the link between current events and professional sportsmen.
