It’s okay but not the best-written of the KU true crime anthologies.

Will come back to later. Actually more excited to read this than I expected to be. I didn’t realize it was less fanciful, more scholarly. I’m more interested in a scholarly take on Myrdden but not in the mood to read scholarly work right now. Shelving for later.

Absolutely living this. Reading slower than I ought—just to make it last.

Started reading in Dec 2019 but set aside when I realised the trilogy wasn’t complete. Picked back up on 1/4/22 now that there is a full trilogy.

Wow is this slow.

I’m fairly certain I know the big twist from the book’s opening sentence.

I’m reading this concurrently with Hollywood’s Eve and I feel like that’s where Jenkins Reid got 98% of her ideas.

I normally love Dev’s books. Having a hard time with this one. Her jumping timeline doesn’t give me a chance to get to know her characters.

I may end up tabling this. It’s got a great voice. I just can’t stay engaged. It’s starting to feel like more of an autumnal book to me.

Ok. I guess the description mentioned the animal shelter, but I suppose I didn't think it would focus so much on that or on the mistreatment of dogs.

The heroine works at an animal shelter and there are subplots revolving around abused dogs. Not sure I'll be able to continue reading. I wish the book description had mentioned this.

I hate this title so much I can't even...
Humans don't endow things to or upon their Creator. I keep fuming every time I try to read this. A better title would be _Tyndale: The Man Who Brought God's Word To The People_.

Also could she please quit ending conversations by flouncing out of rooms?

I do not get this. They keep calling her Arladen's Assasin, like its some well-known state position. But then she was convicted for being an assassin and sent to the salt mines. So what's the deal? Or more specifically, what's the crime? Also, why is her hair long?!? Long hair is like capes--to big a risk in a stealth occupation. Continuity Editor, where are you??

This heroine is grating. I hate reading about dresses. So far she has killed no one but is going to kill me with talk of fashion.

The british versions are fun. It's great reading in the original language.

This book...unputdownable. Only updating because I am waiting for kindle to restart.

So far this feels almost great and I am TENSE. Will this blow me away like Blood Song? Will it bum me out like other stuff?
It feels like it's leaning toward great.
