"Instead of condemning cultural appropriation, we should seek to build a society in which members of every group are valued equally — and all are free to draw inspiration from the cultures of their compatriots."

"Cultures are made of continuities and changes, and the identity of a society can survive through these changes. Societies without change aren't authentic; they're just dead."

I agree with this as a stand alone sentence, but more so in this case as the critique of "cultural appropriation" as defended by the left.

Such an important read. I just completed a graduate diploma in DEI and was involved in activism and politics here in Québec. “ ... do not love the things of the world. Nothing that the world contains is worth the devotion and time of an immortal soul. The immortal soul should give itself to what is immortal. And the only immortal things are: Faith, Hope and Love.”

«The joy of Being, which is the only true happiness, cannot come to you through any form, possession, achievement, person, or event—through anything that happens. That joy cannot come to you—ever. It emanates from the formless dimension within you, from consciousness itself and thus is one with who you are.»

«You are not here for the local farmers, Jeanie reminded herself, but the sweetness of the gift, paired with the slightly awkward delivery, was making it very hard to remember why she wasn't here for the farmers. Specifically, the large, handsome one currently darkening her doorstep.»
