Do not take my slow progress as a sign I am not enjoying this book. I am, I'm just tired, bruh.

So funny so far

So far, I cannot stand the main character. She has this warped, "I have to be a boss bitch to get anywhere" attitude, hates on coworkers for being sleazy toward her (sometimes it was valid) but says nothing of substance (even to herself) when a female coworker does the same thing to a male coworker. I like the guy she hates waaaaaay more than I do her, since his introduction, because he's actually not an a*hole.

Can't do it. The MCs about the crap out of me. Everything feels forced, OTT, and not relatable in any way.

Not really digging it yet. I don't really get/feel Alexa's need to prove something to Caine. And I only kind of get his anger. Feeling really weird not instantly loving a Samantha Young book. 6% to go before I hit DNF and I'm hoping I connect with the characters soon.

Right...so ... Loving the protector vibes Troy is giving off and Cam...sweet Cam... I understand "not having" emotions so well....so relatable.

Prologue got me all kinds of choked up.... Hoping I can get through this with my heart intact.

Love them both already ❤️ Very distinct characters.

Decent start

Without spoiling, I will say there is something that is going on in the h's life that makes me sad. Y'all, Aubrey is a phenomenal writer and I think I just started reading this at a bad time. I want to read this book. I KNOW it's going to be amazing. This had never happened to me, I can usually enjoy this topic. I think she put so much emotion (good writing people), I am feeling it on a deep personal level. ❤️

I had trouble getting my ARC, and technology is the honestly the only reason I'm not further along. I love Nina's books and this one will probably be no different, once I get back into the groove. After sooooo long of being away and out of the reading mood, it may take time. But Nina's words always deliver, so I'm sure I'll be able to shift the ole gear stick and fall back into the story.
