Wow, in Chapter 2, the author had a science expert ("Mr. Science", supposedly a smart guy) blindfolded, spin around, and wildly fire 6 shots with a .44 Magnum, breaking all 4 Rules of Gun Safety!
1) All guns are always loaded.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Great book! So realistic in its exposure of the overreaching surveillance state that America has become that I'm starting to worry about being put on a government black list just for reading it!

I remember that in the first book, Divergent, Tris said it was extremely rare for someone to change factions, so rare that it caused a scandal. But now we know Tris was a faction transfer, so was her brother, so was her mother, so was her father, so was her boyfriend, so was Peter, etc., so it doesn't seem rare at all!

Top of p. 158: "I fought, young pup, " he says. But war's not something ye talk about in the open air when the sun is shining." "Why not?" "I pray to all my gods ye never find out."

Sorry for the typo in my last sentence, I meant "the suspense" not "me suspense"

Very mysterious, keeps you guessing. The protagonist was kept in the dark by his guardians/foster fathers, who kept secrets from him his whole life, so the reader is also in the dark. His guardians only hint that he was lied to by the townsfolk and all is not as it seems, but even at page 138 I can only guess at the truth, and vague guesses too, and I like this, it keeps me suspense and mystery going!

I wish author Vice Flynn had left out all the dozens of jibes and insults about short people. Yeah, we get it, the Iranian president is short, but there's no need for jabs at short people and using 25 synonyms for short, diminutive, puny, tiny, little, etc. and writing "Why is it that these wacky dictators are all short?"

Very good so far. The author has certainly done her homework, or maybe she's a pilot or former NTSB investigator herself!

David Harten Watson is on page 18 of 218 of Girl Parts
The book begins on a downer, with the suicide of a teen girl from the girl's POV. The book's POV is unusual, varying between 3rd person limited and 3rd person omniscient, sometimes going into people's thoughts, but rarely deeply, and other times staying distant, so we don't know the girl's motives for the suicide, although we do know what her poison tastes like to her! Then POV switches to teen boys then omniscient
