I read a lot, and it’s easy to think oh this was fine 3 stars with many contemporary books that actually aren’t really fine and will be forgotten in a second. And then you pick a book from 1923 up again, and are magically transported. The storytelling is sparkling. Sure words and some ideas maybe outdated but the storytelling… that can’t be beat

Ik doe wel mijn best maar tot nu toe vind ik het niet interessant

When you are annoyed with a reading challenge that makes you read the longest TBR book on your kindle and you discover that it is such a delightful book that you’re already dreading finishing it…

Sja interessant wel maar zijn de mensen die dit soort boeken kopen nou ook die mensen die tijd hebben om 8 uur per dag op blote voeten buiten te lopen? Om de wifi in hun huis op te zeggen? Om als ultieme antistress actie hun baan op te zeggen?

Ik niet. Ik wil de beloofde reboot terwijl ik gebukt ga onder werkstress, vast zit op kantoor en de buitenwereld in de winter alleen zie als het donker is…

This really is a proper horror book but at the same
time it’s rather boring

Such a dilemma! I’m enjoying the storytelling immensely to this point, but I just know Sidney and Ridge are gonna end up together and that’s not what I want at all. I’m gonna read till the enjoyment’s gone.

I’m getting a bit annoyed at all the crying wailing children with chubby cheeks

Books like these are under appreciated

But they mean so much more than the tiktok hypes
