Whoa. This is way darker than I expected.

I’ve realized it’s taking me awhile to get through this one because the MCs are completely obsessed with each other. Wanting a fake date because you think people are getting to be gossiping about YOU at someone else’s wedding. Getting upset with a bride announcing her pregnancy at HER wedding because you think the timing revolves around your fake boyfriend. Ugh.

Geneva, wtf is happening?!?

Geneva, I will DNF this book if you kill this man. I cannot.

Did not see any of this coming. The FBI?!

They definitely should have been enemies for life or at least until they had a very long conversation about their pasts, but instead they were enemies for less than a quarter of the book before they started wanting each other. Sigh.

Uh oh. We’re not going to call him Tarantula the whole time are we?

I’m admittedly confused AF about this world. When, where, why are we?

I’m not having fun. I think this book needs more female characters.

The female narrator reads the FMC as if she’s surprised or overwhelmed by everything. Probably need to immersive read or fully switch.

It’s giving Pretty Little Liars with its insane adult problems in a fairly young adult, academic setting. This is not a criticism.
