Lots of fancy words that say nothing at all. Too many medical terms in an attempt to sound smart, but it just damages the rhythm of the book. Only now we saw a glimpse of Osric being of any interest, so far he just had a disease that needed cure. Aurienne is very unlikeable. Why am I still reading this? Not even the side characters are interesting.

Remember when you were 13 and read The Lord of the Rings for the first time and felt like creating your own world and language? Let’s say this person was also into Wattpad. This is what this book feels like, but the person is an adult. And she thinks using different words and throwing a lot of medical talk here and there will make it more… adult?

This book feels like “My Lady Jane”, and I am loving it!!! As I listened I thought I was closer to the end because OF COURSE THIS IS A TRAP!!! but I’m not even halfway through. I am nervous and anxious and nervous

Listening to Jesse Vilinsky narrating this one and having a lot of fun. Is Sarkis supposed to be… Irish? Scottish? (I’m not good with English accents). But the way he sounds in the audiobook kind of built a different character entirely for me from what I read on my Kindle.

I’m listening to the dramatized version and it’s soooo good. I didn’t like audiodramas before, but this one exceeded my expectations. I have a very beautiful hardcover edition in Portuguese, which I would read faster, but this audiobook is so good to listen to

I don’t think being ace makes you this thick-head. It’s hard to out up with Elsie playing dumb all the time. I hope there is more to her behavior and her willingness to choose oblivion. If I were any of the people around her I would have slapped her into reason every time she denis some good offer that she actually wants.

A main character with diabetes! Suffering from low blood sugar levels! I feel so represented! But it is a wild experience to read about a person that needs to ration insulin. I literally, by coincidence, schedule my free insulin pick up for this month before starting this book. Had no idea Elsie had diabetes.

Everything important that comes up this girl will ignore. Oh, here is a big ass lead, but I will think about it later because I have to think about my husband. How can she forget about the Vorster comment about her and her mother??? Then the pendant. Nope. Simply no way. Make it make sense, I beg you!!!!

This is how it goes every other chapter: something is about to be revealed. And then. Something happens.

I’m on chapter 42 so this got tiring already. It’s so repetitive. You just know whenever something is about to unfold, a truth revealed, there will be a cry somewhere snapping their attention. Every. Other. Chapter. I could give it as a prompt to ChatGPT.

Gaslighting! No one gives her a fucking answer and then they are like “ all you had to do was ask”. LIES, dumbass! Ugh, I hate MFC easily deceived by hot man.

I’m enjoying this book, but I hate it when authors forget their own “world rules” and the logic of their own story in detriment of a romance plot. She is married to the Prince. The Prince’s guardian is an ass to her. And she just takes it. She never once thinks about this fact or questions this, she never complains to the prince. It’s all too obvious at only 25%!!!

Everyone is stupid. No one asks the right questions to the Nightmare - that is when they ask questions at all! On this I feel a little annoyed - it is truly not possible that they ignore so much. A thousand evidences that the Nightmare cares for Espelth and everyone is like “oh your vile thing bla bla bla”. Ffffffff uck off

I started this one begging God to not let this be like the Once upon a broken heart series - and so far it isn’t!!!! I am relieved. And also glad to know I was right about Ione and a certain prince.
