Knowing this is a trilogy (?) kills me. I wasn’t expecting to like it so much from the first chapters.

This one is hard to swallow. Writing and plot so bad you just know it came out of a tiktok mind. I am struggling to finish but don’t want to abandon a book.
Instant love plot got to a new (awful) level. No character development AT ALL. So many contradictions. It feels like reading a script of a bad romcom, not a book.

Too many similarities with Fourth Wing series in some points. Honestly, the family plot, the guvres having sex, it seems it all came from the same mold.

Apart from that, this book is actually better than the first one. Better written, but I still don’t understand how the guvres just stay there imprisoned when the author claimed so many times they can destroy whatever and are strong as hell.

Of course it had to be called slow dances. I think all of Rainbow’s books are slow dances. It still amazes me how she can write characters and situations that are so real.

Lendo com meu filho e amando. Lemos antes de dormir e é um capítulo por dia, mas hoje foi difícil parar depois do capítulo 5.

Me indicaram tanto este livro, mas to demorando pra engajar. Achei que os primeiros capítulos foram informativos demais, e agora (ainda no início) to achando a história muito óbvia. E a escrita é um pouco mecânica, parece que o livro foi traduzido, mas é nacional (tipo, é bem escrito tecnicamente, mas nao sei se literalmente…?)

Eu amo a Jude porque ela é um personagem humano de verdade. A bicha é ruim. Romance é legal, mas ter poder é bem mais kkkrying

Que ódio que eu demorei tanto de ler esse livro. Gastei tempo com Quarta Asa quando poderia estar lendo esta fantasia!!! Cardan humilha o satanás. Jude é a primeira mulher em livro de fantasia, quiçá a unica. (to empolgada demais e precisei colocar pra fora antes de terminar. cheguei em 90% sem nem perceber)

I feel like the end is near and it’s only 37% of the book???? I love Dacre’s voice, the narrators are doing SUCH A GOOD JOB here!!!

I love the narrators!!! I feel they are making all the difference in the listening experience. As for the story, I guess we get a bit more fantasy this time around?

I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying Violet is smart when she is the dumbest character ever written. This book would be 1000% better if Xaden and Violet were not a couple. Every time they are apart, reading gets so much fun. Xaden still loving her is unbelievable!!! The girl will fight for the dumbest stuff, demands unreasonable stuff and then does the opposite to him. I’m struggling to finish this.

So this is how it goes. Violet decides to do the most stupid thing and risk everything and everybody just because she has to be the star. Xaden shows up and says he will cry if she dies. Then she is like “oh gods, my man is sad because of my actions, I should rethink them”. honestly I am a bit tired of them as a couple and have been disliking their scenes together a lot.

The good news is: it gets better! Finished part one and now finally I am enjoying the book again. The romance is still… lacking. So she sees him, he is hot, she gets horny. “Gods, he is *insert an adjective for hit hotness*”. By 50% we get a bit more depth than that. But I think now I am in it more for the political/fantasy plot. Andarna, all my faith is in you!!!

I am hating it a little bit. I hope the author knows what she is doing because it certainly feels like she doesn’t. Violet is so stupid all of a sudden. Such a smooth brain, nothing that can stick in there. Her reasons for keeping away from Xaden? Stupid, absolutely childish, and illogical. But everything else doesn’t make sense either! Dragons obey other humans now? Varrish’s character makes no sense!!! Argh

Naomi never, ever fails to entertain me. And I just don't understand how she writes fantasy, but I'm always shipping characters and turning the plot into a romantic fanfiction in my mind from page 1?

As a mother myself, I have a hard time reading books where the main character has a child and just lives a life like there was no child. Maybe my experience as a mother was different but Reena’s baby is 14mo and she manages to work, study, have a boyfriend, and finds time for Sawyer. This is so unreal for me.

Anyway, let’s keep reading to see where this goes. Sawyer honestly seems like trash to me.

Ainda não convencida de que Chris/Alex não passou de um branco riquinho surtado, que na sua arrogância achou que domaria até a própria natureza selvagem (mas to amando a leitura e a história dele de qualquer forma!)
