Absolute fever dream of a book. I'm not entirely sure what is going on but I think I'm enjoying it.

I'm struggling to be interested in this plot. I fear I may have overdosed on Tchaikovsky, and nothing I read from him feels special anymore...

I will forever love her writing style, but so far this book has not dislodged anybody in my top 3 favorite Emily St. John Mandel novels...

Final stretch!

This book feels endless, oh my god

This book is so dense, but I enjoy this cast of characters more than the one in the previous novel.

I'm obsessed with this.

David Mitchell writes really well. I enjoy reading this more than I enjoyed hearing him rant in panel shows; I love the way he uses language and some parts are genuinely emotional. Pretty good book so far.

Uhh... there's nothing happening in this book.

The writing is so beautiful.

This will be a hard read.

Turns out some classics?? are?? actually good?? In all seriousness, I didn't think I would like this much as I did, but so far I have nothing but good things to say about it. It's tragic and terrifying and Rebreanu writes the atmosphere so well.

Do you ever read a paragraph so haunting you just... shut down? Tchaikovsky's writing continues to impress me.

Ok, I love this.

Clawing my way out of the reading slump. From the first pages, I think this one will be another 5 stars.

Her writing is just so beautiful.

"To destroy this thing we need to get it to the place where it was created, which is now Dark and Scary and Dangerous". Surely haven't heard this before. I want to finish it tomorrow and be done with it, because I've been nothing but annoyed by it so far.

I don't really like the writing style, to be honest.
