I wasn't sure about this one when I started it, but I am right into it now. Reminds me of Ed McDonalds Blackwing.

Getting through this one slowly, got to admit, I couldn't really get into this one at the start. I really wanted to love it and it has been on my TBR list for some time. It finally tweaked my interest at around page 140, then lulled again, and now it has picked up and running along nicely. Let's hope it keeps getting better from here on.

This is a fun read and is well articulated. I have to admit the BBC series did the book proud, but there is always more between the pages that you just can't seem to get in a TV production.

Re-reading this Abercrombie title because... well, because it's Abercrombie right! I had forgotten so much of the story that I am loving it all over again.

This book is everything I love about fantasy. A rough world, with rough characters, and written so well.

I'm impressed with this book. I bought this title over 3 years ago and I'm only just reading it now, kicking myself and wondering why I didn't get to it sooner. It's one of the best books on writing I have found to date.

Some of the stories are okay, I have skimmed a few, and I haven't really found one that has really gripped me yet.

Sometimes you forget just how good an author is, until you read their work again.

How could I have had any doubts about this book? I love Abercrombie's writing style. He is so good, I can only aspire to be as good as he is one day. I'm really getting into the characters now, I'm loving Rikke and Vick. It's good to meet some old 'friends' too, I always wanted to see a bit more of Shivers.

I like it, it is definitely a good book for new authors, though the content is aimed at an American audience and therefore some details, such as how to set yourself up with EIN's & as an LLC, is irrelevant for us Aussies and others outside the US.

Couldn't finish The Burning Man, I got bored with it, 1st person is not my favourite POV and I didn't want to waste my time on something I wasn't enjoying. On the flip side, I've moved on to "Spring Time" by Robert Jordan, and it has pulled me straight in. I can see I'm going to enjoy this one :)

Okay, so 1st story up is The Sea and Lttle Fishes by Terry Pratchett. It's about witches and has the familiar Pratchett sense of humour, what's not to love about that :)

I think I have already said this book not without its issues. Sentence structure like - Trotts removed from a sleeve a torn piece of cloth. Why not - Trotts removed a torn piece of cloth from his sleeve? and - Trotts asked "Watch what?" I believe would read better as "Watch what?" Trotts asked. Regardless though, I'm loving this story! Strongly recommended.

Hmm... I'm really loving all the different characters in this book, they just keep coming, but the info dumped descriptions are grating on me a little.

I'm loving this story, but I don't like the way the chapters/scenes are structured, it's very disjointed.

Wow! I'm loving this story. Even with the 'flash back' chapter. I love the characters, the magic, the grim setting, etc... Why have I waited so long to read Steven Erikson?
