I'm liking it. Between reading sessions, I've been listening to a breakdown of the game Soma. It'll be interesting to see how the plots will mesh inside my head, lol.

This book is poetry, a diary, a thriller, therapy, horror, education - I have a lot of feelings about this book and I'm going to have to write a better review later.

Sooooo this takes place before the one I just read.... Very confusing. "Why doesn't he know how (person) died? She told you alr-- oh, wait"

No I didn't finish dozens of pages in a minute, I just rechecked Libby and was further along than I thought. Wanted to point out how many irrational hand movements he includes. "[He] runs a finger up and down, indicating the other man's body." I get the idea behind it, but the phrasing feels... Very weird, and there's several other points where the "gestures" pulled me out of the story

Thoroughly breaks the rule of "show don't tell"

Toxicology and eating disorders with a Canadian backdrop.... How could I not read this?

Putting this down for now - it keeps flipping between interesting, confusing, and triggering (if you've had struggles with mental health, or are highly empathetic, take care reading it. She goes into deep detail.)

Interesting. Unsure at this point how it will manage to be a full book.

I'm going to give up here. The style makes it a bit hard to follow - it hops between what I can assume is the protagonist, then the deuteragonist, then a discussion between the author and themself. It flits between fiction and reality and prediction in a confusing manner. Read until the 3rd chapter before deciding if this book is your style - the 1st chapter is almost isolated from the rest of the book's style.

I feel odd writing a formal review so I'll say it here: Bruno is tiring. But the framing of it through a 9 year old's eyes, with intentional misspellings and mispronunciations, is a good narrative choice.
