An odd bio of Chekhov by his friend Ivan Bunin with a very long intro by editor Thomas Gaiton Marullo—74 pages long, made up of almost equal parts text and footnotes. He quotes heavily from Chekhov’s letters but explains who very few of the correspondents were. Obviously a book meant for academia.
