EXCUSE ME, WHAT???? “Back home, I’d go for a run when I couldn’t sleep, even if it was three in the morning” I’d like to know what 17yr old girl in her right mind would do this. Didn’t we all agree to choose the bear??? I’m really trying not to DNF but it’s lines like these that make it nearly impossible.

I started reading this as an experiment. The cover reminded my so much of Twilight that I just had to… but Twilight it is not. I’ve cringed so many times since staring this book and I’m only 49 pages in. Slang like “AF” has shown up way too many times for comfort. And lines like “I try to ignore the way flying dinosaurs have once again taken up residence in my stomach” should be illegal.

Really enjoying this book so far!! Pacing is great and I’m really intrigued by the plot. Also great: I don’t find the FMC insufferable

Started reading this as part of a book club. I really disliked it at first but have now grown to enjoy it as the characters developed their relationship. Will update once I’m done

So far I’m really enjoying it! I like that the characters have some history and are actually getting to know each other before jumping into anything.

HOWEVER, I had to change Gus’s name to Gabriel because my best friend’s boyfriend is called Gus and I just can’t do it. Send help.

So far I don’t get the hype and I don’t feel captured by the book at all. I’ll be putting it down for now and restart it in the future; maybe I’m just not in the mood.

FINALLY

Just finished The Fellowship of the Ring. It was great but the last few chapters were difficult to get through. I love how Tolkien showcases themes of healthy friendship between men and the struggles between good and evil. Looking forward to starting The Two Towers!

Finally at The Council of Elrond! The book is starting to pick up more speed and a lot of important characters are being introduced
