This really has so many themes and content I hate, but I also don't want to quit it. But seriously, Corruption is my most hated of the TMA fears, I don't like sadism/masochism, I don't like pregnancy (either as a plot device or horror device), I hate whatever Crane/Levi have going at the start and especially as the plot progresses, and reading about even worse political landscapes stresses me out.

"What you actually remember is the last time to remember it." I think about this all the time, especially about childhood memories. Memories are like a game of telephone with yourself. And each time you access the memory you overwrite it again. It's trippy to think about.

I liked the first 30%, but from there it's pretty repetitive. I get what they're trying to do with repeating everything constantly over and over but it's tedious and they probably could have cut 100 pages from the book just by cutting the repetition...

Despite the obvious title, I thought this would be general cannibalism. But nope, it’s specifically fixated on eyes.

Wait you're telling me that you're one of the few women in the 1500's that can prey on evil men and you choose to prey on women instead... targeting sex workers even, such a cliche predator.

IDK if its because the narrator, but the FMC is so whiney and TSTL. She survived 12 years in the most inhumane prison but acts like she has no sense. She speaks and acts she's like a clumsy bull with no iota of finesse. IDC that the warden was protecting her, its impossible that she didn't piss someone off and get offed in the heat of the moment. STFU, quit bitching and observe like you have some survivor instincts.

Is all the “humor” like the humor so far? Because it’s annoying and cringey, not funny. Almost DNFed at the “booty juice” scene alone 🙄

It’s an in office day and yet I don’t find myself listening to this as often as I usually listen to audiobooks in the office.

It’s wild how I supported the couple in book one, but this book has me thinking they’re a bad match. The fighting isn’t just cute bickering, it’s trying to hurt each other.
