Why are the brother's Grimm changed to sisters? It doesn't not fit the world that two women would be allowed to move around the country, alone, collecting stories? Whatever.

This is like 'Handmaid's Tale', in that the world is dominated by the ideals of a book (Cinderella in this story), and everything is set as commentary against the dangers of masculinity in it's most toxic forms.
I don't know how much I'm going to like this book. The protagonist's mother says verbatim, "You're not like other girls."

"How young I was. How foolish. How wise"

This conversation between Denna and Kvothe was so beautiful!

Another fantastic quote:
"As I left, I thought about what Kilvin had said. It was the first thing he had said to me that I did not agree with wholeheartedly. Metal rusts, I though, Music lasts forever.
"Time will eventually prove one of us right."

Continued from 423 update:
"...Eventually you'll find where the surface just barely bears your weight. There you will feel what I felt. The ice splinters under your feet. Look down you can see the white cracks darting though the ice like made, elaborate spiderwebs. It is perfectly silent, but you can feel the sudden sharp vibrations through the bottoms of your feet.
"This is what happened when Denna smiled at me..."

Ah! Patrick Rothfuss is a magician with words!
"... I honestly cannot think of how I could describe it. Lying would be easier. I could steal from a hundred stories and tell you a lie so familiar you would swallow it whole. I could say my knees went to rubber. That my breath came hard in my chest. But that would not be the truth..."

Getting back to reading this book! So excited to catch back up with this wonderful world. Had to stop for school stuff. But now that I've got the rhythm with school, and it works with my current reading challenge: Kvothe, pour me a drink and tell me your tale.

Accidently bought at a used book store. Figured I'd still give it a read.
