Half way through.

Just found out this book takes place in 1990. Why’d I think this was all happening in the 70s?? 💀 Pretty sure they’ve been making more 70s pop culture references than 90s… & This book uses the N-word ALOT. Stephen…you are way too comfortable saying that *side eye*

Bruh, I am not enjoying this book. When is the apocalypse gonna start?? Don’t get me wrong, there are some really interesting moments but it’s like a regular storyline. Someone goes to jail…and someone coughs in the background. Sally’s throat kinda hurt, so she went grocery shopping…and infected 13 people while doing so. I’m just ready for SHTF.

I’ll be reading this for the next month. My kindle says there are 31 hours left in the book 💀

I made the mistake of reading this while eating a chicken quesadilla. 🤢

At first I was not following this book, but now I’m like “okay this is good.” But also, I read reviews that say it gets really boring and stupid after 50% & I’m worried 😧

This book is a lot like Mexican Gothic.

This book is good but the writing style is a lil confusing to me. I didn’t realize until just now, but the author also wrote The Only Good Indians, which I DNF’d solely because of the writing style.

Surprised this isn’t a movie. This is movie material.

I’m probably enjoying this one the least of all the books so far. I think it has a lot to do with the subway style dungeon level.

My first spooky book of the season (ha I always read spooky books) is pretty disappointing. Bad review coming soon if this doesn’t improve.

I really hope this book gets better because I’ve heard such great things about this author. So far it’s kinda boring and a little random. Lots of little random elements, that I’m sure are connected in the end, but now feel very convoluted. Also, the MC is supposed to be ~50, but doesn’t convince me. If it wasn’t for the constant pre-menopause mentions, I would swear she’s in her early 20s.

Didn’t realize how much trauma was gonna be in this book. The first traumatic event made me sit it down for a few days to process. NOW HIS FATHER HAS CANCER AND HE WONT TREAT IT 😭 😭 😭

By some magical turn of events, I was offered another 3 free months of Kindle Unlimited by Amazon. So now I can continue the Dungeon Crawler Carl series 🥹

I’m only reading this bc when I was like 13 I read the Time Traveler’s Wife and it changed my life. The premise sounded similar, but the vibes are not.

I cannot tell if I love or hate this book. It is simultaneously so boring but so interesting.

Putting a dent in these Libby holds I’ve been passing since December. 🤪
