I’m only reading this bc my parents loved this book and told me I should read it. I see why they like it because it’s very ✨farm✨🐄🐖🌾

While I absolutely love the not-so-far-away dystopian future setting and overall premise, I have to agree with other reviews that the characters are hard to keep up with. There are too many with only shallow snippets to remember them by.

This book is like Lord of the Flies but with worms.

Trucking thru this book cause it kinda sucks but I feel like I have to finish it because Goodreads already thinks I did for some reason 😭😭😭

Ok, best SA Cosby book so far. Way better plot than Blacktop Wasteland without all the corny lines from Razorblade Tears. This is the SA Cosby book to read my friends!

As much as I love this series, at this point it’s becoming a chore. What was once goofy, absurd fun, is now endless explanations, arguments, and drab backstory.

It gives me anxiety that Jake is physically aging while gallivanting around in the 1950s. When he returns to the present, he’ll only have lost 2 minutes, but his body will still have aged. It doesn’t seem like a big deal at first, but the more he time travels, you wonder if it’s worth it. And is it worth saving all these people’s lives when most of the time, they end up dying in a different manner later on?

I already know I’m gonna rate this book low. Not because it’s a bad book. It’s actually a very good book. It just is not the book for me.

82% and it feels like it’s just now getting started. The reviews were not kidding when they say this story is bloated. So much could have been trimmed down. Only now are we getting to the second scene that includes Randall Flagg (aka the dark man). He is literally on the cover of the book….

Reading now since someone wanted to go ahead and read it without me 🙃 Btw June, if you liked this book, you should read My Dark Vanessa. Very similar.

Not saying this book sucks, but why is it necessary to write 2 hours of the group recreating the government?? Literally pages upon pages of the characters discussing who will be on the ad hoc committee, how their checks and balances work, democracy on a smaller scale. In the grand scheme of things, will this actually affect the story?? 😐

Just found out this book takes place in 1990. Why’d I think this was all happening in the 70s?? 💀 Pretty sure they’ve been making more 70s pop culture references than 90s… & This book uses the N-word ALOT. Stephen…you are way too comfortable saying that *side eye*

Bruh, I am not enjoying this book. When is the apocalypse gonna start?? Don’t get me wrong, there are some really interesting moments but it’s like a regular storyline. Someone goes to jail…and someone coughs in the background. Sally’s throat kinda hurt, so she went grocery shopping…and infected 13 people while doing so. I’m just ready for SHTF.

I’ll be reading this for the next month. My kindle says there are 31 hours left in the book 💀

I made the mistake of reading this while eating a chicken quesadilla. 🤢

At first I was not following this book, but now I’m like “okay this is good.” But also, I read reviews that say it gets really boring and stupid after 50% & I’m worried 😧

This book is a lot like Mexican Gothic.

This book is good but the writing style is a lil confusing to me. I didn’t realize until just now, but the author also wrote The Only Good Indians, which I DNF’d solely because of the writing style.

Surprised this isn’t a movie. This is movie material.
