Creeping into chapter 5.

I can never get enough of reading these books. I am always amazed by the amount of world building and useful exposition that is left out of the films. Especially, where Snape is concerned overall, as this book contains numerous story points helpful to the overall plot of the meta. Right out of the first few chapters.

I have also always disdained the removal of the moments we have with the British Prime Minister.

Going through the whole series again.

I read this but cannot recall if I enjoyed the book at all. I'm reading this one again. I did think the concept was interesting even if the theme is somewhat overused.

I never did finish reading this book. I stopped and forgot about it at some point. Likely because I didn't have the audiobook playing while I read the novel. I'll have to go back and start again. I've heard this is a solid read but usually for me to stop in the middle and forget about a book? Usually that means it didn't capture my attention.

I'm giving this a mulligan.

Research and more Research. Going through a Tolkien binge in my spare time and hopping between books like episodes on television.

This one has always been one of my favorites from the series. I find myself reading it a few times a year. I think this is my 3rd time this year. I need to get better at updating my Goodreads account. I am slacking.

There are so many issues with this book that it would take more time than I have to itemize them.

The worldbuilding is not good. The characters all commit unforgivable sins. The agency is written purely from a male perspective without the research or commitment to nuance. Too much of the author's personal ideals come through and none for the characters. Said characters have virtually zero growth and weak arcs.

I have lapsed my updates here but I have read this cover to cover a few times at this point. Studying deeply numerous moments and characters throughout Lovecraft's universe as it pertains to my own work in fiction and my revisions and development of other writer's and their novels.

This is a must have book, if not reference, into this dark universe and all it entails.

An interesting premise for this story and an interesting turn of events where the protaganist, despite doing some good for the world overall is slowly becoming what he fought in the first film.

The story is a bit darker in terms of the turn of events that unfold. I am enjoying the darker theme. I am still too early in the material and taking my time reading through it and studying all the nuance.

I am thoroughly enjoying this look into the additional story material for Picard prior to the series. I loved playing the STO video game which had a number of story line items moving ahead of the new series and this book brings a lot of that history together--nicely.

What a gorgeous book. I almost don't want it on my coffee table for fear of my little ones damaging it. So far it is a beautiful extension of this masterpiece video game.
