Slow start but more from my mood than the story, now looking forward to the progress of Theo and the relationships of the HMRC and other witches and covens xx

When you find yourself drawn to Thrillers now the nights are drawing in and find a new author with a back catalogue, what better way than to start at the beginning and the Dr Ruth Galloway mysteries seem right up my street. Ruth is an archaeologist brought in to assist the police in the find of some human bones, I am loving it so far....

Wow this book starts at at quite a pace, the remaining member of her family, Zhu takes on the identity of her brother after a brutal barbarian attack takes her father and brother from her leaving her with no options but to die or find another path for herself.

Zhu had a growth during her time in the monastery until the Eunich General changes her course for a 2nd time.

Now she finds herself with the Red Turbans...

The Eel Singers was not for me, I have tried reading this authors fiction before and the style defies me as cold and flat. The compulsion to finish the tale was purely due to it being a short story and the optimism it would warm me to this much liked author

Short stories are not normally my thing but these Haunting tales are 2 for 2 right now xx

Only just beginning this book but am already as compelled by this as I was with Black Sun, and a little lighter to read while in bed with covid
