Suzanne Ondrus is starting Quarantining Hate
A very accessible book. I appreciated the comparison and contrast of American Southern states to Post WWII Germany. I had no idea there was even such an organization as Daughters of the Confederacy. Taber makes us think about how unchecked hate breeds more hate. The big question is what do we do when people who do violence and hate are in our family. How do we in turn not hate or despise ourselves?

Suzanne Ondrus is finished with The Stuff: Unlock Your Power to Overcome Challenges, Soar, and Succeed
This was like The Secret. Enjoyed the inspiring stories and people. The story of the delinquent kids vowing on a whim to all 3 become doctors attests to the power of groups.
Avoiding fears increases anxiety and encountering one's fears lowers the nervous system response (163). Praising kids for effort is bettet than praising their intelligence (222). Giving had positive neorological impact (297).

Suzanne Ondrus is reading The Internet Trap: Five Costs of Living Online
Intetesting how the internet can lead to lack of perserverance, envy with FB,(57) lead to isolation without strong social ties, (86), He talks how FB posts largely have only stellar moments.
The psychological aspect of upward versus downward comparisons was interesting(64-65). He suggests returning to upward comparisons several days later and writing an action plan for self improvement.

Suzanne Ondrus is reading The Golden Condom: And Other Essays on Love Lost and Found
Really helpful to read of other strongly lovesick and obsessed people! Big fan of first few chapters- might just want to read those. Book shows how scenarios with parents lead to creating the same with loves. Awesome book title!!!!! It connects with a story in the book. The author uses her clients' stories. Does add some psych history and info which I liked.
