Man. Reading this after the Hunger Games, there are so many call backs (call forwards) that foreshadow Snow's future/downfall. Interesting how the games are different as well. Depressing, actually, since it's mentioned that most people don't watch them and it's genuinely about remembering the war and not about glorifying children murdering each other for sport.

Pretty good so far. Since I have already seen the movie, some of the suspense id's gone but it's still interesting and the entries in Mark's voice are very funny.

Although the title is kind of embarrassing (really, haha) I've cracked up like 20 times reading this. It's clever and funny. It's a romance, so it's not particularly deep but that's not why you read books like this. Anyway, glad to have a change of pace since I last read "Monsters of Men".

Katrina O'Brien is on page 44 of 722 of The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1)
although I'm liking the characters and the setting, the liberal use of the 'F' word (as well as other curse words) is seriously detracting from the story. It just plain isn't necessary and it pulls you right out of the narrative...

Katrina O'Brien is reading The Power of a Praying Woman
I started out being really annoyed by the writing style, and the endless (endless.....) lists to make her point (seriously, we get it. You don't have to list *every* emotion/promise/truth/etc) but now that I'm midway through, I'm really liking it. There's a lot of great insight once you get past the style of writing.

This book is killing me. It's soooo slow going. I don't like the sub-plot in Anderith as I find politics boring, and the characters are driving me crazy with their bickering. I loved the other three before this but I'm hoping this picks up soon....it is dragging...

Katrina O'Brien is reading Wild Ink
Been a while since I've written. Thought I'd get some tips. Not really intending to publish but at least I can post an adequate version of Catarina's Quest online...also, apparently a quest is searching for an item, so maybe that title is a bit off lol.

Not bad so far. I actually really like their back stories and it feels more genuine than I expected

Once I got past the beginning,it got much better. I'm really enjoying it now and have gotten used to the present tense, although sometimes it still annoys me.

Katrina O'Brien is on page 20 of 368 of The Widow's War
I don't often read historical fiction so I'm having a little bit of trouble getting into this, but I picked it up because a female was the lead, and it's okay so far. I hate that it's in present tense, "She opens her eyes", "She thinks it's too cold" whatever, not exact quotes, but it's getting on me :p I'm used to past tense and it's throwing me off lol...
