a lengthy view of the times from early-to-mid 1800s thru the Civil War and on to Darwin's arguments. very interesting to read how fortunes were made -- and lost. I take the title to really show that "all" of life/creation ARE connected. it's left to you to decide exactly Who is the guiding force behind life

loads of technical details but very well written concerning the military and the leaders' views of other countries ... scary proposition

(Sambre et Meuse) -- VERY detailed accounting of each day, as well as what led up to the major powers' actions. not an easy read--with all the names of people and places. what's overwhelming me is the action/inaction of the countries involved

chapter by chapter the plot thickens and builds -- leading you inexorably to ????? ... if you love Girl on the Train, Gone Girl ... then try these authors too. great read

finished The Brutal Telling (2nd book in this series) -- wow! what lies behind the needs/wants of each individual? how will the village react?

chapter 18

a glimpse of what occurs in the classroom in different grades thru the substitute teacher's eyes ... some UN-education, a lot of yelling by the teachers (in other classrooms) to keep control, losing recess/free time ... busy days ... not sure really WHAT to take away about public school
