Listening to this book at nearly 2x speed just to finish it. 😭 The amount of conditional sentence structure is ☠️

“Not ____ but ______”

Like, I get it. Just say what it actually IS and move 👏🏽 on 👏🏽

So today, I have apparently unlocked a new reading and writing pet peeve. The amount of exposition that just dropped at this point in the story is almost enough to make me DNF. There are so many ways that this could have been incorporated into the story in earlier moments or even in an expanded narration of books.

Holy freaking exposition, Batman. This is book three. Why are we throwing in a Deus Ex Machina now?
