I am struggling with editing and continuity problems but I like the story.

I don't usually comment while I am reading a book but all of a sudden the story went from strolling along its merry way to BAM - enter bad people x2!

And now we are repeating the end of chapter 2 again . . .

Now the book has looped back around to the start of the 2nd chapter. At least I now have the introduction. Strange such an obvious error made it through before it was published.

I have never been so lost to start a book. In the first chapter we meet the Bennet's and Bingley but in the second paragraph of chapter 2 I supposedly already know Darcy & Caroline. How did that happen????

No Better Gift features Darcy stopping in Meryton on his way to Pemberly for Christmas. He finds the town under quarantine for chicken pox and Elizabeth working herself to death at Netherfield taking care of the ill and the estate. He stays to help her. He realizes fully that she is everything he has ever wanted. She realizes her first impressions were incorrect.

The Matchmaker's Christmas is a mashup of Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Mansfield Park characters finding their happily ever after by the helpful hand of "Aunt Jane.

Her Christmas Gift features Elizabeth making a 2nd trip to Hunsford post the Wickham wedding. Elizabeth and Charlotte are forced to stay at Rosings, as Mr Collins is ill and Lady Catherine has a stroke. An express brings Darcy and a familiar physician to town. Over the holidays, the men fight over Elizabeth and she must choose. Courtesy of a very romantic proposal, Elizabeth finds her forever Christmas gift.

I, Darcy features a modern man whose mother named him William Darcy who he is convinced is a putz. This Mr. Darcy owns a restaurant conglomerate. He meets his Elizabeth by chance and then again in a small town on her family farm. He learns to appreciate his fictional namesake as he learns to see the world from her point of view.

The Ride Home features Darcy & Elizabeth discussing their missunderstandings (post Hunsford & Lydia). Darcy is sent to pick up Lizzy from a bad date and finds her drunk - which makes for a rather loose and sexy conversation. This story was a lot of fun!

Darcy Strikes Out features Darcy as a star baseball player and Elizabeth as a sports reporter that he thinks should just fall all over him. Obviously he was wrong. Georgiana's history with Wickham leaves her unable to walk so there is an aspect of handicap awareness (that felt well done from my perspective). Once he gets over himself and Lizzy finds the truth, they find their happily ever after.

Pemberly by Stage is set in the 1860's in California. The Darcy's and the Bingley 's are moving from Boston to San Francisco. They are intercepted by Wickham and joined by two siblings. Everyone works together to save family members from the bad guys.

Reason to Hope is set during WWI where Darcy is in the Air Force and based outside Meryton. The story doesn't quite follow cannon but the interaction and arguments with Elizabeth are perfect for the time period but without a lot of angst.

You Don't Know me is a 1960's era retelling featuring Darcy as a heir to a Communications/Radio empire who is sent to a remote city for a year to think about a bad decision. Eliza Bennet is one of his disc jockeys who likes to play modern music. As in cannon, our dear couple rubs each other the wrong way but in a world of astronauts, possible nuclear war, and repressed women. I loved this story!

Hot for Teacher takes the Pride and Prejudice characters and their personalities to Pemberly Academy where Darcy is the principal and Elizabeth is the art teacher. The plot includes Wickham and Fitzwilliam as other teachers and a surprising Mr Collins as the janitor. The author did an amazing job getting all the usual misunderstandings in the short story with a steamy happily ever after.

Without Affection features an older Mr. Darcy reminiscing when Elizabeth looked the most beautiful. He then goes on to tell us his experience about the birth of his first child and the interesting decision he made after the fact. Elizabeth, of course, has the perfect arguments and strategies to change his mind - much to everyone's satisfaction.

In Terms of Perfect Composure gives us a background of Darcy rushing back to Longboure after fixing up the Lydia issue. The variation is Lady Catherine arriving while Darcy is in town. This leads to our dear couple working out their misunderstandings in different circumstances.

A Resentful Man provides Darcy a point of view between his failed proposal and the early trip to Pemberly. It contains nothing unexpected.

The Beast of Pemberly is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Elizabeth doesn't replace her father but rather is given in marriage to pay debts. Wickham is featured as an evil wizard who fills the role of the Enchantress and Gaston. The story seems forced.

Clandestiney imagines that Darcy and Elizabeth find themselves alone at Netherfield after their dance with the help of a secret passageway. As they struggle to find the way to the other side they are able to air their true thoughts and feelings. This turn out to be much to their satisfaction.

If Only a Dream is a story of letting down his guard post proposal and letter. In a dream he confesses his innermost thoughts to Elizabeth. I can't say anything more without spoiling the surprise but the happily ever after is very romantic.

From the Ashes is the story of Darcy writing his post proposal letter to Elizabeth. His state of mind and all the errors and accidents make this a humorous "missing scene" from Pride and Prejudice. Cousin Anne's short addition and a well placed epilogue made this story very enjoyable.

Death of a Bachelor shows us Darcy's point of view starting the days before his wedding and just after. Both he and Elizabeth must come to terms with what it means to let go of their old selves and embrace the new.

I don't normally comment on works in process but Anne is scaring me. I think this woman is evil or at least an evil genius.
