Marsha is starting J.O.E Transcendence: Revised Edition
I'll not be finishing this. The first page read like a student-level first attempt. Hopefully, this author has many years ahead to improve on writing skills because the description sounded great.

Nearly half way through and I’m not convinced the author and I share the definitions of basic words like “house” or “trench” but there is no indication that plan to clarify. I am very enlightened about items of clothing which seem meaningful to the narrator for whatever. I’m confuddled.

Jesus Christ is it that hard to do a little research to realize the Incan empire didn’t stretch to Venezuela. I know the author can’t remember much about their characters but is it that hard to stay connected with reality?

I’m concerned. The writer genuinely has no grasp on the characteristics they assign to their characters. After going on about Samantha missing her “claws” which mysteriously went from nails to retractable, she had equally mysteriously reacquired them just in time for a fight. I’m honestly stupified.

I love this. When a guy says he doesn't feel a complete connection to woman after surfing her brain and her soul and making a thorough investigation of her lady parts. WTF else do you need?

I am struggling to get through this mess. Grace is boring, and half of what I read is sex punctuated by metaphysical BS and the rest is Leto and Grace thinking about sex. What little that isn't centered around the crotch area, reads like the musings of a 13 year-old.

I really thought there would be continued improvement with each novel considering the really rocky start. There were a few but most of that came to an end here. Insipid lead characters and poor writing so far.

One review mentioned this as being excessively wordy and as much as I have enjoyed this series so far, it really is slow and filled with accounts I find unnecessary for the story, holding it back rather than moving it along.

I've avoided reading this until now due to the intimidating length. I see now what a shameful waste of time that was.

Writing is stilted. Too much irrelevant information takes on a patronizing professorial tone.
