You ever read a book, and get to a point when you really want it to end? I'm at that stage with this one...

An odd one this - don't approach it as a "brief history", despite what it says on the cover - this is more like listening to a very knowledgeable but curmudgeonly academic chunter on about his favourite Old English bugbears, which isn't a problem in my book.

Could perhaps have done with a little more effort being put in at the editing stage, mind you...

Given this is arranged as per the seasons, I'm reading this a section at a time and have only done Winter so far. But I can report that that section is excellent!

I've got to say, I think Gringalet the horse is my favorite character so far...

So far, King Arthur needs to up his boredom threshold, the Green Knight is, indeed, very green, and Sir Gawain has some self-esteem issues...
