Oh I hate reading books where the FMC is a pick-me. Because how do you have a boyfriend but you’re cuddled up with your male best friend worried his hypothetical gf might ‘ruin’ things?
If anything she’s using Brooks as a placeholder- she needs him to fulfill the emotional needs her boyfriend isn’t fulfilling. (Because said boyfriend sucks).

I just know there’s a girl on TikTok who drinks Starbucks from a Stanley cup and listens to Taylor Swift religiously that would kill for this novel.
And I understand, it’s a pretty cute romance so far

Ollie has the exact same personality as a lot of Meghan Quinn characters- ditzy and quirky. I know she's ten years younger but she's a very unserious character ! Girl if you embarrass someone at least apologize genuinely !

These parents (ESPECIALLY the mothers), in their attempt to be accepting and supportive, are just enabling. I really don’t want to have to read their POVs.
It reminds me of that serial killer whose mother refused to believe he did it despite all of the evidence. Like if you know your child has issues maybe get them help instead of pretending like it’s fine/giving them the cold shoulder💀💀💀

Her parents show up unannounced, barge into her house and now they’re , interrogating her about who’s sending her flowers, checking her phone, asking who’s calling her… oh no babes they got to go!!😭😭 I’m grown why are you in my business??

How can the reviews be so high when the author allowed for the SA survivor... to be assaulted again? In the first quarter of the book? By her main love interest? I'm trying to not be disgusted... but I'm kind of disgusted

Okay this honestly wasn’t bad at all for a “dark romance”! I mean (Spoiler!) besides her trying to poison her husband, it was pretty tame! Not bad at all 3.5/5

She needs a new therapist.
Cause if I told my therapist I, a woman with abandonment issues, married a man that I’ve only know for two months she’d immediately respond with “so let’s unpack that”💀

Wait so he’s THIRTY? And she’s “barely an adult”… I did not realize this was an age gap romance. She acts super youthful which makes it worse. Ahhh I’m trying to keep an open mind but in real life this age gap would make me gag. I’m very uncomfortable- but I will persevere

So I’ve decided to give mafia/dark romance another try… since everyone on BookTok and YouTube keeps talking about it. I’m very nervous! I feel left out since I never read super popular romance novels- so here goes nothing! Please let me like this book🙏🙏

This is the first book labeled ‘dark romance’ that I have actually enjoyed. Hans and Cassie are so cute! It’s the perfect mix of violence and romance. <3

Okay Evelyn is kind of annoying.
The entire plot being “ancient system is evil” and bonus plot “oh snap ex-girlfriend angry” is annoying as well, and completely overdone.
I’ve seen stronger plots in children’s cartoons…

I've wanted to read this book for such a long time! I'm so glad I finally read it, I love it so much! <3

This book is just as gory as The Game of Thrones. It’s a good thing I’m now desensitized😭

This book is like drinking hot chocolate in the middle of winter snuggled up with a blanket in front of the fire place.
The beginning was rough, but the ending made up for it 100%
