A lot of characters! But one of the best audiobooks that I have listened to this year

Drizzt is a strong character. However, I am still waiting to see how he becomes such a favorite in all the reviews. Don't get me wrong, its an enjoyable read

I was hoping for interesting new worlds beyond the ring. But this turned into a character based astro-political based thriller. Great writing

Cornwell is great at mixing fiction with history. The reign of Alfred is certainly interesting, especially with Uhtred to mix things up

I normally like colonization stories. This one looked like it had promise but then it quickly became a military training story. One could easily have watched R. Lee Ermey in "Full Metal Jacket" or Louis Gossett in “An Officer and a Gentlemen” or Lee Marvin in “The Dirty Dozen” and saved a lot of highly predictable & derivative text and development of a wooden, tight-assed main character.

Getting better. Long way to go

Confusing at first. I have listened to this series as audiobooks. So I needed to go back to put together some info that the author assumed that I would know. It's coming. But what a tome! It keeps moving.

Not as much fun as the first. I loved all the 1980's trivia in the first book.
