Definitely not going to finish this before the movie comes out...

Taking this one nice and slow...I took a LONG break to set up my tarot journal so I have a place to keep notes as I read through this. So far, this has been a really fun and informative learning experience.

Man. "Suite for Emily" was a RIDE. I am seriously sitting here stunned. This is gorgeous work.

The stories and essays in this collection are meant to be savored. Absolutely beautiful work in here.

I know this is a textbook and I know it's going to take FOREVER to finish (since it's not my "main" read when I have another book on my nightstand), but so many of the stories in this collection are just breathtaking and inspiring. Reading this makes me want to write!

I hate to say it, but I'm excited to be finished with this book soon.

The Afghanistan section was incredibly hard for me to get through. I get that that's the point, but to be honest, I'm not really enjoying this read at all.
The writing is lovely, for sure, but the abrupt POV shifts are giving me a bit of a headache.

"'There was a woman called Louise,' she said. 'Don't ask me what else she was called. She made spiders.'
'Is this one of your artists?' the nurse asked.
'That's right.' Anne said. 'From France. Wonderful woman. And she made rooms and she built spiders.'"
Is it weird that I shouted when I got this reference? I love Louise Bourgeois!

I love Bradbury as always, but I definitely want to read something lighthearted after this.
