It's been gut punch after gut punch so far. A lot of taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I think we're going into the next phase now so I'm hopeful but I know there's a spanner in the works coming near the end. 😩

The house party is coming to an end and so far so good. I'm starting to question Justin's authenticity 🤔. Is he the reason for her falling out with her in-laws? She did turn him down after all and "he was her only friend" when things started going bad in her marriage. Why was her husband so paranoid about her fidelity before he died? Was it Justin? Could he have caused what ever happened to him? 👀

Volume 2 chapter 12

Almost half way through this book and I can't help but not how this book keeps contradicting itself. It's annoying! I understand that people's characters are complex but to change so much from 1 chapter to the next is just confusing.

I've just read Gage's "big reveal".. The big mysterious secret about him I've been waiting to discover since book 1... 😂😂 seriously?

Halfway through the book and I really dislike the heroin. She's very shallow and quite hurtful with the way she views her husband, even after getting to know him. To think someone is a "monster" because of a deformity is disgusting and not a good way to get an audience to like a character.

Finally.. After reading numerous regency (or books set in the 1800s) I've finally come across one which mentions the area in London which I live

Too many filler pages that are of no interest to me... I do not need to know about the argument our hero had with his valet about why he won't be needing him on his journey, the fact that he can dress himself, and the things he can't do he'll get someone else to do.. That only takes a few lines not a few pages

Such a slooowww start.. So far no action whatsoever just waiting for our heroine to reach London
