SO CORNELL COULD HAVE DONE MORE REGARDLESS OF THE POLICE INVESTIGATION

assholes

we all know why I’m reading this

Rage baiting myself voluntarily again

I can’t wait to read about her knitting with her sewing needles

welp now I’m sure that tartt is racist and what the fuck am I even reading

I fucking hate these men.

I’m sorry is Tartt fucking racist or is the audiobook narrator; what’s with the weird accents and derision towards foreigners that don’t speak English perfectly

Donna Tartt sure loves pretty people doesn’t she

I’m just glad she’s not narrating this book and trying to morph her strange Mississippi accent into a New Englander teen’s

wow this book is disgusting

Quoting Demi Lovato is a crazy way to start a book

this is a horror story; I am making this face a lot 😬

I am fully ready to be disappointed idc I miss the bunnies

2/15/2026 this is my second time restarting this book wish me luck

HOW ARE YOU GONNA RETURN MY LOAN WITH 10 MIN LEFT RAHHHHH

my main takeaway thus far is that I make a great survivalist

ok but if you’re gonna go on and on about dandelions you should at least know they’re monoecious (no male vs female flowers) and often self-fertilize so no leafcutter bee on flower. ALSO how tf would a hummingbird get dandelion nectar and why would a bird like a grouse that doesn’t eat seeds eat a dandelion seed unless it accidentally inhaled it???? don’t write science if you don’t get it at all??????

I’ve now tried to get through Helen McDonald’s intro twice before and failed. Third times a charm???

Leaving this as unfinished til I do the exercises in the book but I finished the reading portion on 7/20

Tom hanks narrates this and it is weird and hilarious and does not really fit the book at all

giving krakauer a second chance
