The internalized homophobia is very strong. I was hoping it was intentional and would get better their the series, but does not seem like it.

I don't really like this book. It's alright, but it has a lot of signs of internalized homophobia. The whole I just pick out dumb twinks, but this time it's a man is a very oh I'm gay but not one of those gays vibe. Which is not okay. Also they never actually explained the premise. Like okay he takes a companion but the whole add thing doesn't seem believable. And no NDA. And why??

Seeing a young Yoon recount his past is probably the the hardest to read out of everything in the series. Seeing him young and vulnerable, desperately trying to hold on to his emotions, searching for a safe space, and Sila taking advantage of him and manipulating him is brutal.

We finally get to see a lot of fluff though when they go to Yoon's parents' house which is very sweet.

"Serge was a yoga instructor who had traveled around India for eight months trying to find out how to access his inner chakras, and had ended up in the hospital for three weeks with a rather explosive case of dysentery that caused his inner chakras to become his outer chakras in a most foul and disgusting manner."

Why is this book so hilarious!!

Feel that in my soul.

First of all, sexual assault is not something to just ignore. It happens fast too often in books and needs to stop.

Secondly, it's pretty predictable, which normally I don't care, but clearly the author is trying to make it a surprise. Constant headaches only mean one thing in a book. And, if they are two guys who are both good, either one works out to be a psychopath or ... because she is incapable of choosing.

"I didn’t want her to be afraid, any other woman and I probably wouldn’t have cared, but this was Melody."

I'm more than half way through the book and the H is still very much an asshole. Most of the time not overtly, but how am I supposed to like someone that thinks like this?

"Being a chiropractor and naturopathic doctor ... Is rewarding. I get to help people achieve optimal health, not be as dependent on pharmaceuticals, and when they see the results that’s what makes me the happiest. Helping others."

So, she isn't an actual doctor. There is no scientific evidence that it works and can even be harmful. Many chiropractors are against vaccination. So.... Ya. This is unpleasant.

Again, WTF?

"The squinting only made me look disabled – and a little constipated."

I can't... I... WHAAAT!!??

What does that even mean.

The H describes herself as having but blue eyes, plump lips and long brown hair - all very dismally. Features that there H is going to salivate over in the near future, I'm sure.

I'll give it a chance, I will. However, my expectations are low.
