I wonder where we'll go with this

So far this book is an excellent escapist romance

Nearly finished, this was supposed to be winter book for me, but we had a few unexpected cold and rainy days so I started and seems I won't be able to stop. Sir Gabriel is evolving nicely here

I'm doing something unusual here. Normally I only read books in the season they are set in, but we're having a few rainy days here so it works. So here we go. I am happy to return to Gabriel and his world. And Sally Smith does not disappoint. PS I love how Delphinium (the cat) just decided to move in

You know how sometimes you have a feeling you've read a book before even when you haven't? That is this book for me. The characters feel like I've met them across 100s of other books before and the worldbuilding is not grabbing me so far

Come on now, lets get this show on the road. These two are seriously stalling given that there is only a 100 pages left.

Nearly done, so their job is following them on their honeymoon and both Kitty and Matt are like this is fine. We don't need a holiday from crime. At this rate they would find themselves in trouble if they were alone in a field somewhere.

I'm getting the impression that neither Wulfric nor Christine are helping themselves here. I'm wondering if this is supposed to be the miscommunication trope, but that is difficult to do since most of it is so easily explained away. Here they are making it more difficult than it should be

That's the thing about hauling a lot of second hand romance books 📚 when you're in a romance mood is you have to read them even when you're not anymore. Anyway, so far so good 💙🧡 But really even during that era who calls their son Wulfric. The character naming in this novel is so distracting.

So far this isn't exactly a pageturners for me, but that could just be my general lack of luck with fantasy so far in the 2020s
