Roughly halfway through, and think I might give up. I was expecting SF, but it feels more like YA Fantasy.

Can't help but feel someone said 'Girl With All The Gifts was a success, quick, what other old rubbish is available that we can publish to capitalise?'.

30% in it feels a bit too much like Orange Is The New Black with not enough else interesting stuff going on. Slow going so not sure I can bring myself to read another 300+ pages, so going on hold for now.

About a third of the way through, and enjoying this quite a bit more than expected.

Finally found some time to do some reading. Halfway through and really liking it so far, will aim to finish over the long weekend.

Seemed interesting to start with, and has now gotten going. Unfortunately it isn't going in the direction I'd have liked, seemingly being Fantasy rather than SF. Combined with the worry it might not be a self contained novel this makes me want to put it on hold for now.

17/11/2013: Finished Time Out. Good story, 3 out of 5.

Decided to re-read this one before moving on to the new Powers novel as that is apparently sort of a sequel. I really liked it when I last read it when it first came out, hopefully it is as good this time.

Read seven chapters. Not quite what I'd imagined it would be, feels closer to 'soap opera' on the 'soap opera'/'hard SF' spectrum than I expected, but still enjoying it so far.

I've read almost half the book now, and while it reads nicely, there doesn't appear to be much of a plot yet - some stuff happens, then some more stuff happens. Will probably put on hold for now and read something else in between.

Not quite what I expected - thought it was going to be time travel SF, but turns out it's a children's Science Fantasy novel. I was going to persevere as it's fairly short, but as I'm not a fan of either fantasy (science or otherwise) or children's books I'd rather read something else so will put it on hold for now.

Slow going - where's the plot? I find that I don't feel like reading, so will put this one on hold and read something else instead.

About halfway through and like it so far. Not quite as good as Mrs Charbuque (yet at least), but not far off.

A bit slow to start, but really like it so far.

Seems I must have a different edition, as my book is 371 pages. Probably the weakest Stross of the ones I've read so far.

Not sure what to make of this one yet, but there are another 200 pages to go so perhaps to early to judge.
